Father Frans Van der Lugt S.J. was abducted on Monday, April 7, 2014 by masked gunmen from the Jesuit residence at Homs, in Syria, where he used to live, and was executed by gun shots. Fr. Frans was born in the Netherlands in 1938, entered the Jesuits and worked in Syria since 1960.
