On the Feast of St Ignatius, Dr. John Sebastian will become the new Vice-President for Mission and Ministry, replacing Father Ted Dziak, S.J., who served in this role the past eight years as the first Vice-President of this newly created office. Father Dziak will become the new University Chaplain.

A group of 25 Loyola Community members head to Spain this weekend to participate in a twelve-day Ignatian pilgrimage led by Fathers Dziak and Gerlich. The group follows the footsteps of Ignatius, from his birthplace in his Loyola castle to the cave an Manresa.

Mary Baudouin (Class of 1978) was named as the winner of Loyola's top alumni award, Ajutor Hominum award. It is given to an alumnus who best exemplifies the values and philiosophy of Jesuit education - moral character, service and integrity.

Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, a champion of the poor, was beatified on May 23 2015 as large crowds of people gathered in San Salvador. The Archbishop was killed by an assassin's bullet while at mass on March 24, 1980.

Ten Loyola faculty and staff just returned from spending eight days in Belize, Central America, visiting the works and ministries of Loyola, LIM, and the Jesuits of Belize. They were also involved in a service project, painting a rural primary school in a remote Mayan village.
